Flow No. 3 – 1960 Series

Description

The 1960 Series explores the spirit of mid-century modernism through contemporary textile design. Inspired by the optimism, abstraction, and artistic freedom of the 1960s, the collection translates flowing forms and expressive color fields into refined, hand-knotted rugs.

Each design is developed within the Design Studio Concepts of Wendy Guns, where art, architecture, and craftsmanship intersect. The collection balances bold visual language with calm composition, creating rugs that feel both expressive and timeless.

Hand-knotted in Nepal using traditional techniques, the 1960 Series celebrates the dialogue between modernist design heritage and contemporary living.

Inspired by the spirit of the 1960s, Flow No. 3 reflects a time when form, balance and restraint defined modern design. This era embraced simplicity not as an absence, but as a conscious choice — allowing space, rhythm and proportion to speak.

The composition is reduced to its essence: a gentle diagonal movement, soft transitions, and a limited yet expressive palette. The flow between light and dark creates a quiet sense of motion, evoking the optimism and clarity that characterised mid-century modern art and architecture.

This design is about calm continuity. Nothing is forced, nothing competes. The eye moves naturally across the surface, guided by subtle contrast and measured geometry. It invites stillness, yet never feels static.

Flow No. 3 is made for interiors that value timeless modernism — spaces where design is felt rather than announced. A piece that complements rather than dominates, offering a quiet visual anchor rooted in the elegance of the past, yet entirely at home in the present.

Care guide

Wool

Wool is one of the most durable and versatile materials for rugs. It is naturally stain-resistant, resilient, and warm, making it a popular choice for high-traffic areas.

Care Tips:

  1. Regular Vacuuming: Use a suction-only vacuum to remove surface dirt. Avoid using the beater bar to prevent pulling fibers.
  2. Spot Cleaning: Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Use a mixture of mild detergent and water for stubborn stains, but test in a small, inconspicuous area first.
  3. Deep Cleaning: Professional cleaning every 3-5 years will keep the rug vibrant and fresh.
  4. Rotation: Rotate the rug every 6-12 months to ensure even wear.

General Recommendations

  • Rug Pads: Use rug pads to prevent slipping and reduce wear.
  • Sun Protection: Minimize direct sunlight exposure by using curtains or UV-blocking window films.
  • Storage: If storing rugs, roll them with acid-free paper and keep them in a cool, dry place.

When in doubt

We have some extra services so you can feel the tactile material, even if you're not able to come to our showroom in Antwerp.
